Awards Ceremony: Warrior Women

What's up Beauties and Cuties, I know I have been gone for a few days and that's not cool, however I have a good reason, if there is such lol.

My reason being, I love you guys too much to feed you garbage, with that being said, it is a KingdomBeautie promise to never post anything in this blog just for the sake of a "new post" status, or to gain popularity/views. I know in order to stay relevant I have to keep attacking you guys with my thoughts, insights, and opinions; not to mention keeping you updated on the latest and greatest in the Beautie Industry, however I vow to always seek God, be prepared for questioning, do my "homework" and gain truth before I flood your timelines with "NEW POST" statuses.

Whew. Now that we've got that out the way, I've MISSED you guys so much, so let's do this.

The title of this post is Award Ceremony because of the recent Facebook tag that has been circling around. You know your girl @ KingdomBeautie can not do things like everyone else, it's just not in my DNA, so I wanted to make this special here on my blog and actually "award" 10 of many great women in my life. Now I can only do 10 (as per the tag on FB) so if you are not mentioned please know that I love you and I do thank you for all you have done for and been to me. Women do not acknowledge one another enough so I want everyone to be on congrats mode and not selfish mode. Cool?

There is no special order for these awards with the exception of the first. All these women are equally great to me and all have special places in my heart and prayers. I love you ladies so much. Thank you for just being you and please continue on your paths.

And now the first Warrior Woman Award goes to (drum roll), none other than my Mommy, Lisa Villalongo. She was my first example of how to be a woman and is still one of the biggest influences in my life. Thank you Mommy for all you do and have done to make me the woman I am today. I know that no blog, amount of money, or shout out could pay for all the heartache, headache and sacrifices you have endured for me, I also know that I am definitely the "problem child", but I pray that I have gotten better and I have shown you that I do listen to everything you say, even when it does not seem that way. I love you Mommy!!! You are my life, literally lol. MUAH!!!

The second award is given to Evangelist Barbara M. Cook, my Mommy in love. She is the greatest mother-in-law anyone could ever have, she preaches and teaches the Word of God to the Ladies of Grace and most importantly she lives it! I am constantly looking to her for how a wife should behave. Thank you Momma for your continued love and support. You always encourage me to be anything I desire and to "just do it". Listening to your advice and watching you has contributed to the woman, wife and mother I am. Thanks Ma!!!

Moving along to the third award, this woman has been with me on my journey to Christ from the beginning. Prophetess Cassandra Hilton, thank you for encouraging me to go back to church and like "church people" lol. I know my questions and theories may have had you praying harder and longer than you liked most days lol, thank you Lady! I will continue to make you proud. I am a protege and looking at my past and who I am today, YOU ARE FRUITFUL!!!

For this next award I am going to have to pull some strings and allow this little lady in, because she is well towards womanhood, my baby sister, Stephanie L. Moore. Thank you for always having my back and supporting me. I appreciate your respect for me and selflessness throughout our lives. You rock baby sis!!! Keep doing you lil mama and you'll get there. My prayer is to be a woman you can look up to, learn from and grow with. I love you my little Monkey (don't kill me for that lol).

Award #4 must go to my first lady, cousin and spiritual momma, Bernice G. Cook. This lady here is one of a kind. Thank you Ma for always thinking of others before yourself and loving my family even as your own children. Another great woman that preaches and teaches the Gospel with such power. I appreciate you. After all you have been through, you encourage me to keep going every time I look at you. I do not know how many women could loose a son after raising him and watching him complete college and still go on. Thank God for you and your strength. Kisses!!!

Warrior Woman #5 would be none other than Sylvia Johnson! This lady is truly a warrior, an inwardly beautiful, outwardly hot, house wife and mother of 5, (six including God Mommy to my little boy!!!), this lady knows what front line battle looks like. Thank you Sylv for being there for me and my family. We do not have many people to relate to us and our situations but you and your awesome hubby have been our main line support system in NY. There is not enough thanks I can give you. I love you so much. MUAH!!!

Numero #6 is the gorgeous, sensational Mrs. Minister J Hutchinson (applause please). This lady is strong, beautiful and wise. With all that she has endured God has truly made a diamond form from the pressure. I will never forget the day you corrected me for fussing at my husband, lol. Thank you for being bold enough to lead this young generation. We need more women like you to build us up and lead us instead of the judgement and ridicule we mostly face. You could have shaken your head and talked about me when I was acting a fool, but instead you boldly corrected me with the utmost respect and love. Thank you!!!

7th (the number of completion) goes to Stephanie M. Wright (aka Aunty Stephy), this woman has been through such an inspiring life change, and I look forward to bigger and better changes in the future. Aunty, we have had our ups and downs, raised up more like sisters than Aunt and Niece, you have been there for me at times when I felt I could turn to no one else. I am so proud of you and happy for you all at the same time. I can never repay you for your love and generosity towards me and now my family but I hope I can make you as proud as you have made me! Love you forever and evers!!!

The 8th Award is given to my Gma, well now she is GG lol, Louise P. McCall. Strong is the only word that comes to mind when I think of my Gma. I have never seen this woman sit still for more than a few seconds. Always on the go and sharing her love (through her cooking) with her family. I am fortunate to be almost 27 and have you still here with me. Thank you for teaching me how to maintain my very first apartment, the life lessons you taught me in college I still apply everyday! Thank you for the cookies you bake and ship out every year and of course the birthday song voice mails! I love you woman. Good ol fashioned stern love, thank you.

9th Warrior Woman is truly a warrior. Mrs. Minister Ernestine Whiteman, (aka Aunty Munchie). This lady has battled literally for her life, and I am so proud of her persistence and diligence to do the work of God even while suffering. I can not share her testimony because it is not my place, but all I can say is WOW, what a woman she is. Aunty Munchie, we love you and we are so proud of you. Constantly praying for you and your loved ones. Thank you for encouraging me even while needing encouragement yourself! You are definitely a warrior woman.

Last, but certainly not least, is my grandmother, Lillian Rodriquez. This is one of the biggest warriors I know. She is always putting others before herself, especially me. When my parents came to her in high school and said I was to be born, her first thought was "You both WILL graduate". Even though my mother is not her child she has always taken care of us. When my father could not be there, she was! She took his place in my life while he was unable to take responsibility himself. Even to this very day I know if I am in need I can call Mamita. She has taught me how to be a wife, mother and quiet storm. She always says "Ciera, pick your battles wisely." I honor this woman and thank God for women like her!!! Love you Mamita.

This concludes my awards. I hope I have inspired all you Beauties and Cuties to think about the people in your life that desire your public thanks and appreciation.

Remember I love you, God loves you, so love yourself,

Went Natural? Ready to Run? Not So Fast...

Natural Hair in the Black Community has been an evolving and growing trend for decades. From the 60's up to today, natural hair has proven to look the best on women of color and be the healthiest method for extreme hair growth. A major benefit that surpasses popularity and growth is being individuals and showing our natural ethnicity in our hair period! The look, feel and very idea is a self-esteem and confidence booster for women of all minority backgrounds.
Personally, I have been "going natural" for 7 years and have been "officially natural" for 4 years. My reason for the two different time evaluations is because I did not do "the big chop". For 3 years I grew out all the relaxer and 4 years ago, for my wedding :), my stylist cut the left over chemical out. It has been a learning process but it also has been invigorating and freeing. Everyday my curls get better and when I miss my "relaxed look" I flat iron (heat below 450 ALWAYS) or wrap. Natural hair is so versatile!

Anyways, I said all this to encourage all you Natural Beauties and Cuties out there, keep going and finish strong.

With that being said, the struggle to finding great products is REAL lol, so here is a list of a few of the best products on the market, I have tried more than half of these myself and they are AMAZING! Prayerfully, at least one of these products will propel your hair into Natural Beautie-fication.

Remember I love you, God Loves you, So love yourself!!!
Love, Mrs.CiCi

Good Evening Beauties and Cuties,

I have a very important announcement. We have officially become official here at KingdomBeautie. In case you have no idea what I am talking about, allow me to explain. KingdomBeautie now has her own domain name, (, I also was blessed with beautiful mugs that will be featured in the near future. New ideas are coming to life, in Jesus' Name. OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL!!!

Now that you know what's up, I must give honor to whom is responsible for this overwhelming blessing. I want to take tonight's post to shower my love and appreciation for my husband, Michael Cook Jr (, who is the king of our castle, head of his wife (ME!), and leader to our son and community. This man is the purest definition and form of what a "man" is to be. He is strong, passionate, and wise. Everything he does, he puts his whole heart into. He is never slack or slowful and on top of all that, he puts up with me. LOL, yea I admit it, I am not the most perfect of the flowers in the garden, but nonetheless he continues to choose faithfulness and dedication to me, everyday, for the past 4 years!

Here's the 411, hun. If you have to wonder about your man and his dealings, he is not the one you need to be marrying; if you're already married to that kind of man, hope is not lost, prayer is your ticket to peace. So, please ladies and gents be encouraged. There are still great people out there. Beautiful men and women are out there with sincerity and purity looking for someone like you.

However, if you happen to be the dishonest one I am advising others to stay clear of, then let this be a warning to you, there is someone out there waiting on what you have! I have not been married all my life, so that means some dudes missed out. If you are the one who is about to be missing out, TIGHTEN UP BABY, because, ain't nobody got time for that, OH KAY!!!

That's all she wrote, just remember,

I love you, God loves you, so love yourselves
